Culture note
Banned Books Week is a yearly event created in 1982 by First Amendment activist Judith Krug in response to a surge in challenges to books public schools and libraries. Over 40 years later, during the last week of September, the book community (educators, librarians, authors, publishers, readers, booksellers) defends and celebrates the freedom to read.

Spelling bee
Memorize the words from the

Quote of the day
You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.
― Ray Bradbury, author of Fahrenheit 451
What does Ray Bradbury mean by this quote? Do you agree that a culture can be “destroyed” if people stop reading books?
