Culture note
Did you know that New York was originally called New Amsterdam? Founded
by the Dutch in 1624 as a trading post, it became a diverse and bustling colony.
In 1664, the British took over and renamed it after the Duke of York. From its
indigenous roots to waves of immigrants shaping its culture, New York has
always been a city of change and reinvention!

until someone hesitates for too long, then
restart with a new word!
