The Commonwealth of Nations,
often referred to simply as the
Commonwealth, is a political
and cultural association of 56
member countries, most of which
were formerly part of the British
Empire. Founded in 1949, the
Commonwealth aims to promote
international cooperation, trade,
democracy, human rights, and
cultural exchange among its
diverse members.
