emerged in the 1970s
with hippies and
punks embracing it.
Then in the 1980s, the
anti-fur movement
brought ethical fashion
into the spotlight. The
phrase “sustainable
fashion” only sprang
up in the 1990s. Since
then, the movement
has grown, influencing
both brands and
consumers to consider
the environmental and
social impact of their
choices.
